There are lots of lulls, and even the solidly built Mr James isn't wide enough to fill them. Fortunately, no one dies (or even bleeds). Kevin James and his director Steve Carr clearly think the Segway is hilarious, and they turn to it for a cheap laugh whenever there's a lull in the comedy. This film combines lots of physical comedy and pratfalls with the intense threats and gunplay of a heist thriller. What they don't know is that Paul Blart is still inside, and begins zooming around on his silly Segway thwarting the villains. They want the usual things, planes to Mexico, a considerable sum of money, and the cops outside see no alternative but to give it to them. An overzealous security guard finds himself in over his head when he tries to thwart a criminal mastermind's plot to rob an entire shopping mall. Blart is about to go off duty when the gang shut down the centre, take hostages and begin to issue demands. The way he goes on you'd think he was a Manhattan homicide detective, but his conscientiousness comes in handy when a group of armed raiders take over the mall. Paul Blart is a mall security guard who rides around in uniform on a ridiculous motorised Segway. It's Kevin James who's the 21st-century James Belushi in this thoroughly idiotic comedy set in a sprawling shopping mall. Long version: (Beware, many plot holes) Veck Sims. He is told that he can join the real police anytime he wants. You'll still find some of them on video, but the genre has long been dead in the water - until now. He heads to Las Vegas with his teenage daughter before she heads off to college. He is played by Jamal Mixon in the movie.

With Kevin James, Raini Rodriguez, Neal McDonough, Daniella Alonso. High resolution official theatrical movie poster (1 of 2) for Paul Blart: Mall Cop (2009). In the late 1980s the likes of James Belushi and Arnold Schwarzenegger appeared in a weird sub-genre of anodyne Hollywood comedies that were neither fish nor foul.Īimed at neither children nor adults, these films mixed pratfalls and sub-Saturday Night Live clowning with stiff doses of nauseating sentimentality: the hero was a gobshite but had a heart of gold and would get the unfeasibly attractive girl in the end. Paul Blart: Mall Cop 2: Directed by Andy Fickman.
